Current build: canonical event corpus + market tape, computed from 1051 clustered events distilled out of 1051 raw articles. It is signal-bearing, but it is not yet a full real-time civilizational firehose.
Morality, defined = Morality is not market mood. For pooter, morality means the interpreted effect of an event on harm, agency, truth clarity, and power asymmetry.
A morally relevant event is one that changes who can act, who is harmed, who controls the narrative, and how clearly the underlying facts can be known. The system does not claim divine truth. It records evidence, uncertainty, conflict, and interpretation over time.
Harm
Does the event increase physical, economic, civic, or informational damage?
Agency
Does the event expand or reduce the ability of people to act freely and knowingly?
Truth Clarity
Are the claims well-evidenced, falsifiable, and transparent about uncertainty?
Power Asymmetry
Who benefits, who pays, and is coercion being hidden behind complexity?
Composite Score = Editorial Sentiment (30%) + Human Impact Severity (15%) + Coverage Velocity (15%) + Contradiction Density (10%) + Market Movement (20%) + Bias Spread (10%)
Sentiment and severity are scored by Claude AI (keyword fallback when unavailable). Thematic topics redistribute market weight across editorial signals. High severity events pull the index toward fear. High contradiction density dampens scores toward neutral.
